Day One
Depart New Delhi bound for Tel Aviv/Jerusalem.
Arrive in Tel Aviv. After clearing Customs and Immigration formalities we will
be met by our guide and transferred to the hotel. After check-in we will have
an opportunity to become familiar with our surroundings and our fellow travelers.
Dinner will be at the hotel. A tour briefing will be followed by devotions.
Day Two
Jerusalem Environs-/Bethlehem and Shepherd’s Field
After breakfast drive to Augusta Victoria Hospital for a briefing about their
work. Continue to the Mount of Olives for a Panoramic view of the Old city.
Visit the church of the Ascension – the Church of Pater Noster, then walk
down the hill to visit the Church of the Dominus Flevit, the Garden of Gethsemane
and the Basilica of all Nations, the “tomb” of Mary. Continue to
Bethlehem to visit the Basilica of the nativity. View the Shepherd’s Field
where the angels announced the birth of Christ.
Day Three
Morning Worship at the Anglican Cathedral.
Visit Ein Karem, homethown of John the Baptist. Drive past the Knesset (the
Israeli Parliament) to visit the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book to
view the Dead Sea Scrolls. Return to the hotel for dinner and evening devotions.
Day Four
Jerusalem/Herodian Quarter/Temple Mount/Wailing Wall/Via Dolorosa
Start your day with a visit to the restored Jewish Quarter of the Old City.
Walk along the Cardo, the most interesting of the Quarter’s archaeological
sites. From here visit the Temple Mount. Visit the Wailing Wall, Dome of the
Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque (Entry is only permitted to the courtyard at present).
Walk to St. Ste[hen’s Gate and visit St. Anne, Pool of Bethesda. Walk
along the Way of the Cross on the Via Dolorosa, with a visit to the Holy Sepulchre.
About 4:00 or 5:00 we will try to meet with Pastor Na’eem Ateek of Sabeel
who will talk to us about present day life in Israel and Palestine. Return to
the hotel for dinner and over night and evening devotions.
Day Five
Dead Sea/Ein Gedi/Qumran/Jericho
We leave fo the Dead Sea to the Oasis of Ein Gedi, rich in vegetation and waterfalls.
Enjoy a swim in the Dead Sea before continuing to the ruins of Qumran where
the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Continue to Jericho for dinner and over night
and evening devotions.
Day Six
Jordan Valley/Beit Shean/Tiberas
Visit Old Testament Jericho, view New Testament Jericho and cable car to the
top of the Mount of Temptation. Continue along the Jordan Valley stopping at
Beit Shean to view the best preserved Roaman theatre and unique Byzantine mosaic
floor. Continue to Tiberias. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Evening devotions.
Day Seven
In the Galilee
After breakfast we drive to visit the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered
His “Sermon on the Mount.” Walk down to the spot of Jesus’
appearance to His disciples after the resurrection. Sail across the Sea of Galilee
to visit Tabgha, where Jesus performed the Miracle of the Multiplication of
the Loaves and Fishes. Visit Capernaum. Visit Yardenit, the new commemorative
sit of Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan River. The actual site is in Jordan.
Dinner and overnight at hotel. Evening devotions.
Day Eight
Tiberias/Nazareth/Mount Tabor/Caesarea/ Tel Aviv
We leave Tiberias and continue to Nazareth for a visit to the Basilica of the
Annunciation. Drive to Cana, the place where Jesus performed His first miracle,
the changing of water into wine at the “Wedding of Cana”. Visit
Mount Tabor, sit of the Transfiguration. Visit Nazareth Village. Continue to
Caesarea with its beautiful ruins. Continue along the Mediterranean coast to
Tel Aviv for a well deserved rest. Farewell dinner at the hotel. Evening devotions.
Day 9
Return to New Delhi
Depending on flight departure time we may have some time to visit sights in
Tel Aviv. Transfer to airport for return flight to Delhi.
What does the “Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus” Tour
include?
• All accommodation, breakfast and dinner, international flights from
India and domestic in-Israel travel.
• English speaking guide
• Air tickets in Economy class. The fare quoted is in Indian Rupees and
is based on a minimum group of 16 participants plus the tour leader
• The price for this tour: 8 nights and 9 days per person, based
on double occupancy is Rs.78,500 per person.
• Single occupancy Rs. 86,200 per person
The Tour begins and ends in New Delhi. Persons residing outside of Delhi are
responsible to arrive in New Delhi in adequate time to connect with the Tour.
Not Included in the Tour Price:
Expenses of a personal nature, lunches, passport/visa fees, airport taxes, tips.
• Visa fees approximately Rs. 2,500 per person. To obtain
the visa participants are required to submit their passport, photo identification,
bank details (proof of funds) three months prior to departure date.
• Tips for the Guide and Driver (recommended per person
per day for the Guide is $4.00 and for the Driver, $3.00)
• Insurance: While every effort is made to ensure that
baggage is properly handled, Lodestone Travel and Tours and its Representatives/Agents
are not responsible for damage, loss or theft. Baggage loss, trip cancellation
and health insurance are recommended.
Registration for the Tour
• All participants will forward (together with their passport, bank details
and visa fees) a deposit of Rs. 25,000 per person three months in advance of
the tour departure date. For this tour by August 6, 2008.
• The final payment for the tour is due on or before September 15, 2008.
• Participants who drop out of the tour within two months of the departure
date will be charged a cancellation fee of Rs. 6,250. The remainder of the deposit,
Rs.18,750 will be refunded.
• In the unlikely event the tour is cancelled by Lodestone Travel &
Tours all funds will be returned to the registered participants.
• In the event that the registration for the tour is less than the required
minimum of 16 participants plus the tour leader, Lodestone will try to accommodate
the registered participants in another tour or will return the deposits.
